The Gloria Maris Hotel Suites & Villas is situated in the quiet area of Koukla on the bay of Laganas. The bay is a nesting site for the famous Caretta-Caretta turtles. Koukla is a wonderful little resort nestled between Aghios Sostis and Keri Lake on the bay of Laganas surrounded by olive groves. This is a very small resort consisting of two hotels and a few self catering units with a very narrow beach and with lovely views of Marathonissi and the bay of Laganas. The main town of Zakynthos is just a few miles away and offers a great opportunity to shop and explore the harbour and narrow streets.

Cameo Island
''Born'' in the early 80's, Cameo island club had started without a question the nightlife of laganas-zante... Being a pure disco club in the 80's and 90's was the only venue for the clubbers to go. Famous for the beautiful environ ment, it was always the place to enjoy listening to any kind of music. More than 20 years later, Cameo is still giving pleasure to the ones who know how to listen to good music and enjoy their lives. Cameo has 2 stages, upstairs wich has a closed dancefloor and is usually open only at night and downstairs wich is the main stage that all the parties take place (''the ultimate beach patry'', ''the white party-partyo''...etc). It has a beautiful beach open for anyone with swimming desires! It's open everyday-all day with loads of events and daylight parties taking place every week. The sounds you will listen in Cameo are many but the main style is HOUSE! The resident dj ''costantino bozi'' is usually spinning during the day's with chill out, lounge and deep house sounds & at some of the beach parties. Maybe not in the famous laganas street but still in the heart of every visitor that had the chance to cross the wooden bridge and enter the ''paradise of house and the remedy of soul''...

Koukla is next to Agios sostis
A nice place to visit on foot is Agios Sos tis. Agios Sostis is situated between Laganas and Keri and the sandy beach is named after the small island that you can see from the coast. We can describe Agios Sostis in short as beautiful unspoilt traditional village that worth visiting. We strongly recommend it to our guests who are keen to walking.
The journey to Agios Sostis its takes only 10 minutes walk. The most important thing is that you are walking by the sea and therefore your need for a relaxed walk is satisfied. A visit to Agios Sostis is a unique experience that you shouldn't miss!
Near Laganas
An other interesting place that worth visiting while you are staying in to our hotel is Laganas.  Laganas is home to the largest beach on theisland (9 km) a long stretch of sand shelving into warm clear water. The rare loggerhead turtles use the beach for nesting, so understandably no water sports are allowed with exception of scuba diving.
In the summer months the resort is thriving with party going youngsters looking to soak up the lively atmosphere. As a result of continued growth there are multiple of nightspots to explore satisfying all tastes. On the main street of Laganas you can find a variety of bars offering a rich night life. In Laganas you can enjoy anything from an ice cold bear to exotic cocktails. In short we can say that as day turns to night Laganas comes alive!
Near Keri: day out
Keri is a small and quiet resort situated on a wonderful bay with golden sand and turquoise  shimmering waters, and can be found in the southern part of Zakynthos. A couple of taverns and cafe-bars are scattered along the bay from which one can enjoy an amazing view over the islet of Marathonissi.
Indeed Keri is a traditional village with a discrete atmosphere and is one of the only villages on the island to have houses that survived the devastating 1953 earthquake, these are attractive stone built homes set on narrow streets – reminding us of a previous era.
About the National Marine Park of Zakynthos
The National Marine Park of Zakynthos (N.M.P.Z.) is the re cently established marine park situated at the southern most part of the island of Zakynthos. The Presidential Decree for the establishment of the N.M.P.Z. was signed on the 1st of December 1999 by the President of the Greek Republic.
The Marine Park's objectives are to preserve the natural environment and conserve the ecological balance of the marine and coastal area of the Bay of Laganas and of the Strophadia Islands.
Within the Marine Park is the most important loggerhead sea turtle Caretta caretta nesting rookery in the Mediterranean, a habitat essential for protection.
The National Marine Park of Zakynthos is the first of its kind in Greece comprising of a Management Body and it will be an example for other areas in Greece requiring integrated management.
Protected Area
The Marine Park encompasses the marine area of the Bay of Laganas,  the sea turtle nesting beaches and a zone of land adjoining them, the wetland of Keri Lake and the two small islands of Strophadia, which are 50 miles south from the island of Zakynthos.
It is worth noting that Greece is the only European country where the loggerhead sea turtles Caretta caretta nest, with Zakynthos being the most important nesting area in Mediterranean.
Furthermore the area is characterised by a variety of habitats, of European interest including sand dunes, Posidonia oceanica beds, the critically endangered Sea daffodil (Pancratium maritimum), submerged reefs, as well as hundreds of species of flora and fauna, some of which are of great importance.
It should also be noted that a resident population of the critically endangered species of monk seal Monachus monachus is present at the west coast of Zakynthos.
